What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about science and eager to ignite curiosity in young minds? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our thriving department from September 2025.

The Role

As a Teacher of Science, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Inspire students through a curriculum that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
  • Be a proactive member of a collaborative and supportive faculty.
  • Play a key role in the academic and personal development of students.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Ability to teach Science up to KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and teamwork

Desirable:

  • Specialism in Physics

We are an 11 – 16 mixed comprehensive of around 1000 students and 150 staff situated to the west of Wigan. We are a community of students, staff, parents and governors with a common goal. We strive for the highest standards in everything we do.
