What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science. We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is driven to raising achievement and promoting high expectations of our pupils. The successful candidate would be expected to teach a range of classes across KS3 & KS4.

As Head of Year, you will form a key part of the pastoral leadership group and member of the broader pastoral networking group supporting the welfare of our outstanding young people. You will take a lead role in ensuring a positive climate for learning at the school and for your year group cohort, working in partnership with pupils, parents and carers and staff to remove barriers to success so that pupils effectively engage in learning and thrive.

As well as leading a group of pupils, you will also lead a team of form tutors ensuring that high standards and expectations are embedded throughout the team and during form group sessions. This will enable you to influence the culture of the school by ensuring a consistent approach to celebrating the successes of pupils, the delivery of important form time and personal development materials and providing pupils with a first layer of pastoral support at the outset of each day.

The successful candidate will bring with them their enthusiasm for Science, pastoral care and support, an appetite to shape a positive school culture and the capacity to inspire and motivate both students and staff.

We are keen to hear from candidates who will:
