You will have the opportunity to gain the Mandatory Qualification to teach children with Vision Impairment from the University of Birmingham and become a Qualified Teacher of the Vision Impaired (QTVI). About you:
You will be a qualified teacher of science, who is keen to develop their skills in the field of Special Education. Previous experience is not required but a willingness to be flexible, creative and to learn new skills is essential.
About the role:
You will be responsible for teaching Science to pupils in our Secondary Department, many of whom are vision impaired and /or have additional needs.
You will be confident in teaching science up to GCSE level and also prepared to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of pupils performing below age related expectations.
You will be well organised and able to plan in advance to ensure your resources are modified where necessary by our reprographics department.
You will be responsible for a form group and will contribute to the implementation of their Education, Health and Care plans and the yearly annual review.
