Teacher of Science & PE job summary

  • Teach Science and PE across Key Stages, delivering high‑quality, engaging lessons.
  • Use a range of active learning strategies and planned formative assessment to maximise progress.
  • Create a purposeful, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where all students thrive.
  • Plan and deliver lessons and schemes of work in line with school policies and curriculum requirements.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear feedback to support improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies to support student success.

What We’re Looking For

  • A high‑quality degree with Science or PE as the main or significant focus.
  • PGCE with QTS/QTLS (or willingness to work towards).
  • A passionate, dynamic classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong knowledge of active learning and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Ability to differentiate effectively and meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player who contributes positively, shares ideas, and collaborates effectively.
  • Commitment to high expectations, professional learning, and continuous improvement.
