We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Science who is passionate about delivering engaging, high‑quality learning experiences for students with diverse and complex needs.
At Snowdon Village – City School, Kingswood, you will play a vital role in supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence and qualifications needed to achieve a positive and prosperous future. Our setting specialises in alternative provision for students with EHCPs and a range of SEND needs, so your role will go beyond the classroom, helping to unlock potential and build meaningful pathways for every learner.
You will use your subject expertise creatively to deliver a curriculum that fosters curiosity, resilience and a love of science, while adapting your teaching to meet the individual strengths and needs of every student.

About the role
You will:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that inspire curiosity and promote a love of learning
- Plan and adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEND, EHCPs and additional barriers to learning
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to a bespoke curriculum, using students’ strengths to support progress and personal development
- Play an active role in learning beyond the classroom, including weekly enrichment activities focused on the historical, cultural and environmental aspects of the local area
- Support wider opportunities such as land-based learning, animal care and outdoor education, enhancing students’ engagement and real-world understanding of science
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing
- Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school
About you
You will be:
- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge in Science
- Experienced, or highly motivated, to work within a SEND or alternative provision setting
- Skilled in delivering adapted, inclusive teaching that supports a wide range of learning needs
- A strong communicator who can build trust with students, families and colleagues
- Patient, resilient and committed to helping every student succeed
- Passionate about personalised learning, inclusion and improving life chances
- Committed to your own professional development and contributing to a collaborative team culture
- highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards, with achievements and contributions that are substantial and sustained if applying as an Upper Pay Scale teacher.

Snowdon Village is a multi-site, cross-phase alternative provision that sits within the heart of the CLF. The Snowdon Village sites include The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy and City School.
Our primary aim is to meet the needs of children and young adults who have social, emotional and mental health issues by offering a suite of alternatives to mainstream school. Members of Snowdon Village may engage with the provision in a variety of ways, from long-term residential care to short-term, part-time alternatives which complement their existing school experience.

Snowdon Village is the collective name for the Alternative and Special provision within the CLF. It is made up of The Nest primary setting, Engage revolving door setting accommodating and supporting students from feeder schools for 12 weeks in KS3-4, City School HQ, South and Kingswood and Bristol Futures Academy which supports Year 10 and 11 students to re-engage with their learning and prepare them for the Next Destination which is College, Apprenticeships and Employment.

All Staff are Trauma Informed Trained and focuses on Pastoral Support to Young People and their Families to enable them to re-engage with their learning.
