Details

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Science Teacher to join our dedicated team at The Appleton School. As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their Science skills and critical thinking. We are looking for an individual who can create engaging and challenging lessons that foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Science across all Key Stages. This is a fixed term contract for one Term to cover for the absence of the substantive postholder on sickness leave. Should the employee return to duty before the final date above, the appointment will cease with statutory notice.

Principal Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.
  • Establish a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued and empowered to delve into challenging Scientific concepts with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress and attainment through a range of formative and summative methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the Science curriculum, participating in departmental meetings and contributing to cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment activities.
