What skills and experience we're looking for

York High School is looking to appoint an inspirational teacher with a proven record of outstanding practice, or the potential to become outstanding with our support, to work within our science team.

Members of the Science team at York High School work together towards shared team goals, aiming to inspire practical scientists who can apply their knowledge and skills to a variety of scientific and real-world challenges to make an impact on the world.

The successful candidate must have the ability to teach across the age and ability range, and inspire, motivate and challenge young people. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to contributing to the personal development of all the young people we teach.

Applications from newly qualified teachers would be very welcome.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing 26 June 2023.

Although this position is advertised with a 1 September 2023 start date, applications for a 1 January 2024 start will also be considered.

We would strongly encourage any prospective candidate to visit the school. Please email Dawn Becton at d.becton@yorkhigh.southbank.academy if you would like to arrange a visit to the school.

Further details about our school and an application form are available on our school website: www.yorkhighschool.co.uk/recruitment

Please email applications to recruitment@southbanktrust.co.uk marked for the attention of Mr Rod Sims, Headteacher.
