Teacher of SEND (Resource Base) job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of SEND to join our thriving SEND department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher with experience in KS2 or within a SEND setting to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will teach small classes within our Resource Base, delivering personalised and engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students. You will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally. In addition, you will contribute to the wider work of the SEND department, supporting students with SEND across the mainstream school and working closely with classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments.
Our well-established and expanding Resource Base currently supports around 30 students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The provision offers a nurturing and structured environment where students receive approximately 60% of their curriculum within the base and 40% in mainstream lessons, allowing them to benefit from both specialist teaching and inclusive experiences. The curriculum is flexible and can lead to a range of qualifications, tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of each learner. The Resource Base has been running successfully for a number of years and is a valued part of our school community.
You will be joining a supportive, collaborative, and experienced SEND team, committed to ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education that empowers them to succeed.
