Teacher of SEND job summary

The Royal Sutton School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Teacher of SEND to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students, delivering targeted teaching and intervention programmes that help learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing personalised support, developing confidence, and removing barriers to learning for some of our most vulnerable students.

Key responsibilities

Delivering specialist teaching and intervention sessions.

Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

Working closely with the SEND team, pastoral staff and classroom teachers.

Monitoring student progress and implementing effective support strategies.

Contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and SEND provision where appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

Has a passion for supporting students with SEND.

Has experience of delivering high-quality teaching and intervention programmes.

Understands the diverse learning needs of students and can adapt teaching accordingly.

Builds positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

Has high expectations and a commitment to ensuring every student succeeds.

Is committed to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.
