What skills and experience we're looking for

Kesgrave High School is looking for a Social Sciences teacher to join us from September 2024. This is an excitng opportunity to contribute to a talented and committed team of subject specialists. We are looking for an excellent teacher who can contribute to the teaching of one or more Social Science subjects, including; RE, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Philosophy or Government and Politics. Kesgrave High School is a large 11-19 school which has over 1850 students on roll, including over 320 students in the Sixth Form where these subjects have a strong track record.

The departments are particularly well resourced. There are dedicated teaching rooms in grouped subject clusters including in the Sixth Form building, which has networked computer facilites to enable innovative teaching. There is also a wide range of resources for GCSE, BTEC and A level teaching including up[1]to-date textbooks, journals and software to help with the successful delivery of the courses

The Psychology, RE and Sociology departments are a dynamic part of the school and the successful candidate should be able to work as part of a team and contribute energy, enthusiasm and new ideas. All three departments have a great sense of team spirit and work collaboratively to ensure our students achieve the highest possible standards. The departments are also supported by a dedicated curriculum support assistant.
