We are seeking to appoint from January 2025 or earlier if possible, an able and enthusiastic Teacher of Social Sciences to join our very successful social sciences department.

This post presents an opportunity to join a strong and thriving faculty in this Specialist Science College, where you will deliver Psychology, Sociology and Criminology. Experience of teaching all three subjects is desirable but training will be provided.

There is a strong interest among students, resulting in a high uptake of Social Science subjects in the Sixth Form. The successful candidate will not only be forward-thinking but ambitious for our students. We constantly review our curriculum and hope in the future to understand how we may expand the provision into KS4.

We are looking for someone who:

has the drive and vision to grow GCSE Psychology and Sociology

enjoys being part of a team and sharing ideas and materials

wants to make lessons fun and engaging

enjoys learning new skills

sets targets for improvement for individual students and as a subject area

uses management information to assess target goals and progress

The successful candidate will be

able to teach Criminology, Psychology and Sociology at KS5 and have an ambition to widen provision into KS4

enthusiastic and well organised

be able to motivate and inspire students

committed to working in a team

have a commitment to their own personal development

QTS qualified
