We are consistently rated in the top 10% of providers nationally (the top possible band of the ALPS performance system which evaluates post 16 provision) across a range of indicators including for ‘Quality & Breadth’. We are the number one ranked local state funded provider for Post-16. At Post-16 our ‘value added’ and ‘points per entry’ across a range of qualifications are all well above national averages. We are also proud of results achievements:

  • 99.9% A Level pass rate across all qualifications
  • 91.9% of all entries in 2021 achieved grades A*- C
  • 75 grades at A*

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff who are committed to providing the best possible education for our students.

In our most recent OFSTED inspection (October 2023), St Mary’s College was judged as OUTSTANDING in all areas, with the inspectors stating: ‘St Mary’s College is a highly ambitious school,’ with this ambition evident, ‘in all areas of the curriculum’.

St Mary’s College was awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark in 2017 which was redesignated in 2023 in perpetuity.

St Mary’s College and St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust are immensely proud of all our achievements, not least:

  • Key Stage 5: Leading regional provider post 16 in the top 2% of all post-16 providers in the country.
  • St Mary’s College is one of the top schools in the country for student progress and was awarded the Sunday Times Secondary Comprehensive School of the Year 2024 Award.
