What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious and motivated Social Sciences teacher to join our vibrant Humanities faculty.
Are you looking for an opportunity to join an outstanding academy and develop your experience in a school environment? Do you want to have a genuine impact on shaping our teaching and learning culture as well as accessing Trust wide mentoring, succession planning and career development?
There is a unique energy at The Priory Ruskin Academy; we are forward thinking, aspirational and dynamic but with a genuine warmth and supportive culture. We are looking for passionate individuals with a desire to support and promote outstanding education to join Ruskin’s progressive and dynamic staff team.
This is a temporary post and would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher. Sociology is a subject offered at KS4 and KS5 and we offer Criminology at KS5. The successful candidate would not necessarily have to teach both subjects.
The Humanities departments offer a number of subjects across the school including; Geography, History, RE, PSHE, Sociology, Psychology, Law, Politics and Criminology. Several of our humanities teachers will look to teach another discipline to develop themselves professionally. An openness and willingness to do this is preferred.
There are over 60 Humanities teachers in the Trust and there is a likelihood that opportunities could arise across the Trust which could be explored at the end of the contract if desired.
What the school offers its staff
As a MAT our scale allows both flexibility and creativity in terms of career development, with permanent and secondment opportunities across our academies allowing exciting career pathways. We are determined in our mission to improve the life chances of our students and we are equally committed to the wellbeing and development of our staff. All our staff benefit from annual appraisals, access to CPD opportunities, our Trust Employee Benefits Programme and excellent support from our HR team.
