Teacher of Sociology job summary

About the Sociology Department:
Sociology is delivered solely in the 6th Form and is an increasingly popular subject at A Level.
The department follows the AQA A Level in Sociology supported by the Napier Press textbook.
All students are provided with access to the A Level Sociology Review magazine.

The successful candidate will:
Be an outstanding teacher of Sociology up to A Level
Teach students using a variety of teaching and learning strategies, ensuring that lessons are stimulating, differentiated and delivered at pace
Be responsible and accountable for the learning and progress of every student
Lead department planning for learning; this includes writing schemes of work or long-term plans and creating and sharing resources
Assess students’ achievements regularly according to School policy

Rickmansworth School is an 11-18 heavily oversubscribed co-educational partially (35%) selective academy with nearly 1455 students on roll, increasing to around 1575 students over the next five years.
