What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and reflective full time Teacher of Spanish and French to join our team of experienced specialists in our Languages Faculty at Cirencester Deer Park School on a permanent basis from 4 September 2023. An ability to also offer German would be desirable, but not essential. This is an ideal opportunity for an Early Career Teacher to take his/her first steps on the career ladder in teaching and further develop his/her skills, or for a more experienced colleague to experience teaching and learning in another school.

What the school offers its staff

The school's values of Trust, Kindness and Determination underpin all we do. Our pupils enjoy their learning in a disruption free environment, and staff are proud to work here. Following our Ofsted inspection in January 2023, Cirencester Deer Park School continues to be a good school. Inspectors noted that:

  • “Pupils welcome leaders’ high expectations of their behaviour and conduct… Pupils enjoy their learning and feel well prepared for the future.”
  • “Pupils behave well in lessons and benefit from learning without low-level disruption from others.”
  • “Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well supported by leaders in respect of workload, well-being and managing pupils’ behaviour.”

Further details about the role

Further general information about our school can be found on our school website as well as a letter to applicants, Languages faculty information, Teacher job description and an application form. Interested applicants would be welcome to contact Allison Boucher, Head's PA by email with any specific questions or to arrange a visit to the school. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a letter of not more than 2 sides of A4 covering the specific points detailed in the letter to applicants, and should reach the school no later than 9am on Monday 12 June 2023. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Friday 16 June 2023.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to the safeguarding of our pupils and employment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and the receipt of satisfactory references.

Our Ofsted Report in January 2023 confirmed: "Leaders have established a strong culture of safeguarding. Appropriate checks are made on adults working in the school. Staff understand the priority that should be given to safeguarding. They receive effective training and report concerns about pupils or adults appropriately."
