The Grove is a successful, new Special School opened in September 2018, which meets the needs of pupils aged 5 to 19 on the autistic spectrum. We opened our doors to 42 pupils in 2018 and have grown to 68 pupils currently and set to grow to 84 pupils in September. We are in a brand new refurbished school which has been designed to reflect around our pupils and offers specialist facilities to support our curriculum.
We wish to appoint three Teachers for September who have an outstanding track record, who are ambitious and ready for an exciting challenge. We are looking for teachers to work across each of our departments, Primary, Secondary and Post 16.

If you relish in being able to make your mark with innovative and creative practice and you are excited about making a real difference then this role will provide you with the scope to achieve this.
The post holder will be responsible for leading a class team ensuring there are high quality and effective learning opportunities for all students. Class sizes are small and our experienced teams offer support with a collaborative approach to teaching. The post holder will also be expected to work closely with our multi-disciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will be required to:
● Have previous experience of working within an Inclusive team;
● Have had either primary school training or be able to teach a primary style curriculum as adopted within special schools;
● Have previous experience of teaching in an Autism-specific environment;
● Work closely within the school team;
● Have a passion for Autism Education and the Inclusion Agenda;
● Have experience of completing SEN assessments and differentiated plans;
● Be able to undertake specialist teaching on a 1:1, small group and whole-class basis;
● Be a motivational teacher for all abilities ensuring learning is engaging and inclusive;
● Work within and contribute to the school community;
● Have a commitment to an integrated, therapeutic approach and ethos;
● Be very flexible and adapt quickly to change

About The Grove
The Grove is a brand new special school for young people with autism, opened in September 2018. As our school moves into its second year, we transfer to our newly refurbished site near Turnpike Lane and expand our intake of pupils. We are opening, in September, two new KS3 classes for 8 academically able autistic pupils. We will provide an alternative to mainstream education for these youngsters who, for many reasons, have not been successful in the mainstream setting. This provision will expand to include KS2 and KS4 pupils reaching a capacity of 16-20 pupils over two years. The school, which is currently based on a split site has 45 students on roll with complex autism across primary, secondary and post 16. The addition of a new department will create 4 distinct departments as we grow to full capacity of 104 by 2021, 88 of those places for young people with complex autism between the ages of 5-19 and 16 places for those who are academically able between the ages of 7-16.
