What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint two exceptional candidates to teach across our Faculty of Sport and Uniformed Protective Services. The successful candidates will teach predominantly on our BTEC Level 3 Sport courses with a small proportion of teaching on our BTEC Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services course. There may also be the opportunity for teaching on our A-level PE course for candidates with suitable experience. We are looking for candidates who are inspirational teachers, able to demonstrate a passion for their subject area and with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities in the 16-19 range. With a demonstrable record of good or outstanding results, you will have a commitment to raising aspirations and supporting the wider college community. If you are currently undertaking initial teacher training you will have demonstrated outstanding potential and aptitude for post-16 teaching.
What the school offers its staff
New College Doncaster, an academic sixth form college, offers a distinctive young adult ethos and is a great place to work and study. With 1500 students, New College Doncaster has grown rapidly since opening in 2017 and students make exceptional progress in both A level and level 3 applied general courses. The college is proud to have been rated ‘outstanding’ in all categories in its 2021 Ofsted inspection: “Students at New College Doncaster experience a culture of very high expectations, which supports them to maximise their potential and achieve their aspirations. Teachers challenge students to be the best that they can be, to have very high levels of attendance and punctuality, and to develop strong, independent learning skills.” The three Colleges within the Trust work closely together, presenting exciting opportunities for collaboration, support, development and progression.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join our dynamic team at the forefront of change and to make a real difference to raising standards of education in the local community. New College Doncaster delivers primarily A Level provision, alongside a number of Level 3 applied general qualifications and a very small amount of Level 2 provision.
