We are looking for someone with drive and ambition to join our Technology team at Hollingworth Academy from September 2021. We require an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who will work with other members of the department to ensure that our pupils make excellent progress in learning. This role will work across both Design and Technology and Food Technology, with Food Technology focusing on Key Stage 3, and Design and Technology working to Key Stage 4. As a department, one of our primary focuses is increasing the uptake of pupils studying Design and Technology at Key Stage 4 and we would welcome the ideas and experience of a new member of the team. Food Technology at Hollingworth develop pupil’s knowledge and understanding of food, preparation and nutrition that promotes a healthy lifestyle. The food technology department consists of two practical rooms with a separate seating area for theory work, teacher demonstration facilities and a fully fitted kitchen area for practical lessons. All pupils in KS3 receive one 60 minute lesson per week. Year 7 and 8 lessons are based on the Eatwell Guide and a healthy balanced diet. Year 9 pupils complete design and make projects based on a theme. All pupils complete a mixture of theory and practical lessons.
