Ramsgate Arts Primary School (RAPS) is a two-form entry primary school with a focus on the 'Arts' (music, dance, drama, and art). We are located in a bright, modern, spacious building which encompasses state of the art technology and designated spaces (such as our dance studio, music room, art studio and gallery) which facilitate our Arts Curriculum.
What Makes Us Distinctive? At RAPS, we endeavour to nurture, encourage, and build upon creativity through our innovative and inspirational Arts Curriculum. Our specialist teaching team guide children in learning the value of discipline, commitment, and work ethic, as well as creative thinking skills. The result is children who, not only have a secure educational foundation, but also have the ability to think outside the box, express themselves creatively and become resilient learners, enabling them to succeed in our rapidly changing world.
We are passionate about providing an inspirational education for our children based upon our belief that creativity and the arts enhance and enrich learning experiences, improve pupil wellbeing and support pupils in developing their skills and talents.
Each afternoon, we nurture our pupils' creativity through a variety of arts activities and educational visits. Our vibrant arts curriculum is delivered with the 'wow' factor. Each child is encouraged to enjoy a hands-on learning experience that will last a lifetime. Our pupils thoroughly enjoy experiencing the arts curriculum, where they can develop skills and enhance their artistic talents.
We have forged successful partnerships with performing and visual arts groups within the community and are proud to have close links with the Turner Centre, Margate to enrich our visual arts curriculum.
At RAPS we truly take pride in our school and know that, if you come to visit, you will see that the impact of the Arts curriculum is evident. The RAPS learning environment is filled with imaginative and colourful displays, energetic lessons and lively performances.
Alongside the Arts Curriculum, we also teach our RAPS Topic Curriculum which first and foremost develops children’s knowledge of the foundation subjects and science, providing rich and meaningful information to pupils enabling them to make learning links and therefore develop their understanding of the world around them. Our constant drive for success in reading, writing and maths also ensures that pupils can achieve their potential. We strongly believe in developing the whole child through and do so through our core values, the teaching of the British Values and through the teaching of PSHE.
Ramsgate Arts Primary School is an exciting, innovative primary school because, not only do we offer a fabulous education that develops core and foundation subjects, but we also provide unique opportunities to develop children in the arts too.
