What the school offers its staff
Paces School is based in a modern, bright, and well-equipped building with free on-site parking, and is conveniently placed just 5 minutes drive from Junction 35A of the M1 motorway.
All new staff receive a free uniform on commencement of employment.

About the job: Are you a passionate teacher seeking a new opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of special education? Paces school is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a teacher, or teacher-conductor, starting in September 2026. Paces School (rated Good by Ofsted in June 2024) currently has 65 pupils from ages 3-18. We provide bespoke curriculum pathways, tailored to meet the learning needs of our pupils and underpinned by the philosophy and methodology of Conductive Education. Roles and Responsibilities: The job holder will undertake all tasks required within the remit of this role, including but not limited to: · Plan and teach well-structured lessons/ Conductive Education programmes, following the school’s curriculum and schemes of work · Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment · Adapt teaching to respond to the varying needs of pupils within the class · Inspire and motivate pupils through highly engaging, well-planned lessons taking full consideration of the needs of the pupils focusing on the individual style and pace of learning required · Communicate effectively with team staff who will be supporting you on a daily basis · Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils · Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge · Demonstrate a responsibility towards promoting the educational and developmental potential of all pupils · Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the school’s values and vision · Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school · Work with others on curriculum and pupil development to secure co-ordinated outcomes · Demonstrate a commitment to personal development participating in recommended training programmes, conferences or courses and other aspects of professional growth · Where appropriate, take part in the appraisal and professional development of others · Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and carers · Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the school · Develop effective professional relationships with colleagues · Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school · Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school, and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality · Understand and act within the statutory frameworks setting out their professional duties and responsibilities

Criteria | Qualities
Qualifications and experience | · Qualified Teacher Status · Successful teaching experience. This does not necessarily need to be in a Conductive Education or special school setting. For the right candidate who showed a real interest in our school and the way in which we work, a package of support will be put in place. There would need to be a willingness to complete any necessary qualifications. ECTs are welcome to apply and would be fully supported.
