Our pupils are neurodiverse, insightful, and full of potential. Pupils that attend the WYmering School have an EHCP with a primary need of Social, communication and interaction difficulties ( a neurodiverse profile) and high levels of anxiety and/ or associated challenging and distressed behaviour.
Wymering School’s highly pupil-centred approach wraps around each young person, building on their strengths, their personal interests and the positive aspects of their learning profiles. We overcome possible barriers pupils may face when learning and look for innovative and new ways to help them to progress and develop.
Our curriculum is life skills based and offers practical experiences out in the community and in adventure learning programme.
We know the importance of listening to each family’s story. Our family’s involvement in their child’s education helps us to secure the best outcomes for our pupils. We provide ongoing support for families and carers to feel confident and self-assured in understanding and supporting their children at home and assist them through periods of change and transition.
