The Role:
Your aim is to motivate children and use resources imaginatively to help them learn in the classroom. You'll provide a safe and secure environment for them to develop their social and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching to Year 6 pupils across the core curriculum.
- Plan and implement engaging lessons that support academic progress and personal development.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing timely feedback and support.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity and consistency across the year group.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as required.
- Use one afternoon per week for PPA to plan, prepare, and assess learning effectively.
Key Tasks:
- Motivate and stimulate a child's learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience
- Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment
- Assist with the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities
- Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
- Help children develop curiosity and knowledge
- Build and maintain relationships with parents
- Observe, assess and record each child's progress
- Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting
About You:
- Graduate with appropriate degree (Hons)
- PGCE/Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience with curriculum development work
- Experience of attaining and analysing a class set of data
- Experience across the age and ability range
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent classroom skills
- Creativity and flexibility
- Commitment to developing teaching and learning
