Teacher, Year 3 or 4 job summary

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled teacher, ready to take the next step in your career in one of the most exciting and rewarding teaching environments in Oxford? We are looking for a great teacher to join our team in lower key stage 2 (which includes teachers, teaching assistants and specialist reading support) and teach either a Year 3 or a Year 4 class. Although this post would be temporary in the first instance (for twelve months) there is a good possibility of future development into a longer-term position. Wood Farm Primary is a vibrant and thriving school on the outskirts of the city. We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident teacher who has high expectations for themselves and for children and who is passionate about learning, and wants to join us to help ‘build the future for Wood Farm’s children’. Already recognized as a good school, we are always reaching higher – we’re proud to be a place where all members of the school community strive to be the best they can be. This is an opportunity to join an energetic, talented and highly supportive team that can offer you: • A strong commitment to your professional development, whatever your career stage • A supportive team, with the opportunity to plan and work with key-stage colleagues and with class support from our large team of skilled teaching assistants • A beautiful working environment, in new buildings • Friendly, happy children, who love learning – and the chance to make a real difference to their lives. Our teachers work closely with year group and key stage colleagues, and you’ll be supported by our experienced leaders to create a classroom environment that puts the love of learning, books and reading at the heart of everything you do.

Commitment to safeguarding

Ensuring that children are safe and well cared for is our highest priority. We work with parents and other agencies, including our Local Authority, to make sure that children are kept safe, both in school and beyond.

Staff members with designated lead responsibility undertake regular specialist training in safeguarding and child protection.

All members of staff and regular volunteers receive training in child protection, and we undertake comprehensive background checks on all adults working in the school, including an enhanced DBS check and full employment references.
