Teaching and Learning Assistant job summary
Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint an exceptional Teaching and Learning
Assistant. Successful applicants will have a passionate commitment to ensuring that every child makes exceptional progress. They will have a deep understanding of the role that adults within and outside the classroom can play in supporting young people with additional educational needs to develop independence and to overcome barriers to learning.
The post holder will be a member of the Additional Educational Needs Faculty, which supports learning across the school as well as in the specialist Autism Resource Base. His or her work will be supporting faculty teams to deliver an outstanding quality of provision for all students. TLAs are also sometimes required to cover lessons within faculties.
Successful candidates will be highly effective, flexible, positive and reliable team players, with the ability to make impact and raise standards for young people with a range of special needs. As a core part of their role, they will develop a confident understanding of the curriculum, and work with faculty teams to support interventions and share responsibility for student outcomes. They will have a desire to progress professionally and personally within the role.
