Earley St Peter’s Church of England Primary School are looking for a fun, energetic and committed team member to join our staffing team. You will be involved in supporting the learning and development of children in EYFS. The school is part of The Keys Academy Trust which is a primary specialist MAT committed to providing the very best educational experiences for our pupils and staff, so that our schools are recognised as centres of academic and pastoral excellence at the heart of the communities they serve. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across our family of schools as part of the Trust’s CPD programme and networking opportunities.
Main purpose:
- To provide support to pupils in EYFS with additional needs in line with the National Curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.
Duties include:
- Work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Leader to support individuals and groups of pupils, including those with SEND, EHCPs or who are disadvantaged
- Help maintain a positive, well organised and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils in staying on task and developing motivation by modelling good learning behaviours
- Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime and support educational visits and school events
- Liaise with parents and professionals when appropriate
- Work flexibly across year groups and undertake additional duties where needed, including supporting personal care, first aid or preparation tasks to support the smooth running of the school
General requirements:
- Passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and want to make a difference to the life of a vulnerable pupil
- Able to build a positive rapport and exercise patience and consistency
- Kind, caring and compassionate
- Experience with, or a love of, working with young people
- An awareness of commitment to equality
- Basic understanding of health and safety
- Understanding and implementing child protection procedures
