Terrington St John CP School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching and Learning Assistant Level 1 to join our friendly and hardworking team. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, has a nurturing approach, and is committed to supporting pupils' learning and well-being. 

About the Role: 

As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will: 

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences. 
  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils to help them access the curriculum. 
  • Provide additional support to pupils with specific educational needs. 
  • Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment. 
  • Assist with general classroom organisation and administrative tasks. 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a genuine passion for working with children. 
  • Is patient, flexible, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. 
  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative. 
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent). 
  • Ideally has experience in a school setting (though not essential – training will be provided).

This post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations. 

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
