With 180 years of experience in Catholic education, established by Marie Madeleine D’Houet in 1841, Gumley has continued to flourish as a FCJ centre of educational excellence. Building on these strong foundations, we combine the best of experience with innovation. Our academically ambitious curriculum, delivered by highly motivated, committed and professionally focussed staff help provide the challenge, support and inspiration each girl needs to flourish.
Our long standing and established international profile and links with industry leaders provide students with unique opportunities to develop their understanding of the wider world, these include visits to China, India, Kenya and the USA, as well as those closer to home such as Iceland, Lille, Lourdes, Rome, Paris and Valencia. Students achieve greater cultural empathy through these experiences that are also often, life changing for them.
High standards and expectations are promoted throughout each aspect of school life, where every opportunity is taken to praise, celebrate, reward and take pride in all that we do, this coupled with our clearly expressed core values, immersed in the FCJ traditions support our long term aspirations for each students success in later life.
