Teaching Assistant job summary
Bulford St Leonard’s Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join its friendly team and provide support to pupils, starting from November 2025.
Working Hours: Part Time (12 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, includes Teacher Training days). Contract: Fixed Term (until 24th July 2025). Required: November 2025
We are a single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. Situated in the village of Bulford, Wiltshire, we serve both military and local families and have strong connections with St Leonard’s Church. Supported by our strong Christian ethos, we insist on high standards of behaviour and respectful relationships. Our school is where futures are created and our staff make this a reality by delivering a curriculum based on active learning and real-life, first-hand experiences; helping students prepare for the next stage of their education as well as for their next stage of life. As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges within our school and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEN support, liaising with teachers and SENCO.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
- Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
- Enjoys working with children and can develop good working relationships with them;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Can be a strong team player as well as use your own initiative;
- Has a positive and flexible attitude;
- Has experience of supporting children’s learning;
- Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training.
