Teaching Assistant 1:1 job summary
You will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work and support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils, which will assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. This role is primarily to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil, with the possibility of some group interventions and some class support. It will include a daily lunch duty. The position is most likely to be based in one of our Early Years classes. This is a term-time working five days a week from 8.30am to 3.30pm. There may be the possibility of fewer hours for the right candidate and we therefore encourage applicants to include their preference for working days within the application.
Experience of working with children in a classroom setting is desirable, but not essential as training can be given. We require someone who is understanding, patient, enthusiastic, highly motivated and who is a good communicator and a team player. We are looking for someone who can enhance the learning experience for a pupil and is able to nurture their potential, encourage aspiration and maximise their enthusiasm and willingness to learn. The successful applicant will be passionate about transforming the lives of children.
We are a welcoming school with a friendly and supportive team with supportive parents and governors.
We can offer you:
- The opportunity to work in a Good school, which is part of a successful Multi Academy Trust (ODST)
- A wide variety of resources to support teaching and learning;
- A professional and supportive staff team;
- Excellent opportunities for staff development and networking, as part of the ODST;
- A school set in an enviable location.
