What skills and experience we're looking for

To start as soon as possible - Part time 30.5 Hours per week - Term time only

You will be working in class in the mornings and working as a 1:1 with a visually impaired child in the afternoons.

You will be under the direction of the Specialist Support Supervisor who will provide the resources.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, energetic, confident, cheerful, caring and skilful teaching assistant to join our team.

Christ the King is a happy and inclusive school in the heart of Whitley in Reading. We have approximately 310 pupils, including an autism resource.

Some of the duties will include:
1. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils, including a child with a visual impairment, under the direction and guidance of the specialist support supervisor, class teacher, SENCO and Inclusion Lead.
2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes and Education Health and Care Plans for students and help to monitor their progress.
3. Facilitating inclusion, both inside and outside the classroom, through the development of independence whilst ensuring safety.
4. Assist in the maintenance of student records.
5. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help to develop their social skills.
6. To deliver planning and resources to a child with a visual impairment.
