The Role

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team from June. Working 37 hours per week during term time, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing, working closely with teachers and support staff to help every child thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning and make progress
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ emotional and social development
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional or SEND needs
  • Help prepare learning resources and maintain a safe, stimulating classroom environment
  • Supervise pupils during lessons, activities, transitions and, where required, at breaktimes
  • Uphold the school’s values, safeguarding procedures and inclusive ethos at all times

  • A patient, positive and caring individual with a genuine commitment to supporting children
  • Experience of working with primary-aged pupils, or a strong desire to develop in this role
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adults
  • A flexible, proactive team player who can also use their own initiative
  • A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Alignment with Hatfield Primary Academy’s values and high expectations for all learners
