Teaching Assistant- Old Priory Junior School, Plympton, Plymouth
Contract Term: Fixed term until 31st August 2026
Hours: TA part-time 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Salary: Grade SC 2 SCP3 - 5 actual £15,923 per year (FTE £24,796) increase subject to pay award
Term Time only: 39 weeks per annum
Start Date: ASAP

We have a vacancy for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our collaborative school.
You will have previous experience working with children in KS2 setting and be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike. Working in partnership with the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom assisting pupils to learn and reach their full potential. If you have high expectations and understanding of behaviour of all pupils, experience of delivering interventions for children and can create and maintain a purposeful learning environment we would welcome your application to be part of our successful and hardworking team.

- Make the curriculum exciting and personalise it to the needs of different groups of children.
- Have high expectations of children;
- Be sensitive to the needs of different children;
- Be passionate about helping children to learn and providing them with a range of opportunities and suitable challenge;

- Help children overcome barriers to learning;
- Think in creative ways to make learning accessible for all;
- Show commitment, enthusiasm, empathy and resilience;
- Be flexible to work both as part of a team and with the wider community of professionals;
- Have recent experience of working in upper Key Stage 2.
