Sixth Form Teaching Assistant job summary
Crowdys Hill School is a special educational needs school in Swindon, catering for students aged 4 to 19. Our Sixth Form is based at the Swindon College North Star site.
We have a vibrant and inclusive community where students show a terrific enthusiasm for learning. Our curriculum is designed to foster self-confidence and promote a joy of learning, with bespoke lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
The successful candidates will support students across the curriculum and assist with work placements. This role is essential in helping our them achieve their full potential in both academic and practical settings.
We support children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), whose primary needs are cognition and learning, with communication and interaction needs from the borough of Swindon and beyond. Our aim is to enable all students to live their best life by providing a broad and balanced curriculum that includes frequent trips and community activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students across various subjects, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist students during work placements, ensuring they gain valuable experience and skills.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored educational support.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- A commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students.
