Teaching Assistant job summary

Shillington Lower school is seeking to recruit a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills to join a committed team of educational professionals.

The hours will be 08:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday (with 30 minutes lunch) 32.5 hours per week. This time will include working over the children's lunch time . Term time only, plus 5 INSET days per year. This is a Fixed Term position until the End of August 2026.

For this post, you must be a calm, cheerful, caring and patient Teaching Assistant. The perfect candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working collaboratively and independently when required and able to maintain a professional attitude in a busy school environment. A good understanding of phonics and of the differing needs of children, including those with SEND, would also be an advantage. You will need to be flexible and be willing to undertake a variety of activities with individual pupils (including those with SEND), groups of pupils or supporting the whole class.

Start date will be as soon as possible.
