Teaching Assistant job summary

A Teaching Assistant is required to provide in-class support, group intervention and one-to-one learning. This role will offer the successful candidate opportunities to support both the staff and children, challenge barriers to learning and ensure the achievement of each student is maximised. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and parents both verbally and in writing. Teaching Assistants are an essential part of our pupils’ education and so they are expected to have a good level of education themselves. Working hours are likely to be 8.15 am - 3.45pm Monday to Friday and this position is Term Time Only including INSET Days. The successful candidate must be willing to complete any necessary training.

Our shared vision is to enable learners in our ‘all-through’ school to achieve the highest levels of academic progress. All students have the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in all areas of school life, enjoy innovation centred teaching & learning, and exhibit the highest levels of respect in our school community. Oakgrove School was the first all-through school in Milton Keynes providing education to ages 3 - 18 and is also a member of Kingsbridge Educational Trust.
