What skills and experience we're looking for
Langley Park Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our highly collaborative and supportive team as soon as possible. Our Teaching Assistants are pivotal to our success in the classroom and provide a great deal of support for our teachers, therefore our successful candidate will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and students alike.
We are looking for someone who;
- is dedicated to the job and prioritises the needs of the children in their care.
- has experience of working with primary aged children and preferably experience of working with children who have special educational needs
- is resilient and solution-focused
The successful candidate/s will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children. We are also looking forproven high standards of both spoken and written English and Mathematics. Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. Our newly appointed Teaching Assistantswill be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.
What the school offers its staff
We are offering two Teaching Assistant roles, please see below;
1:1 Teaching Assistant:Key responsibilities will be to work on a 1:1 basis with specific pupil(s) on a daily basis and to provide wider support to the Class Teacher in the teaching and welfare of children to attain the targets set within the National Curriculum or Individual Education Plans. Please note that previous experience working in Key Stage 1, Makaton and specifically with pupils with ASD and Down's syndrome is highly desirable.
Teaching Assistant:General Teaching Assistant to cover SRP (specialist resource provision).
This role offers an actual salary of £16,914per annum based on 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 08:30-16:00), Term Time + 1 week of inset. The role will be centred around supporting children’s learning and development in all aspects of school life, not only in class but during social times too. This will mean that implementing lunchtime and break time routines and activities will be an expected part of the role.

Langley Park Primary Academy is a unique academy with pupils from Nursery to Year 6 with an onsite Specialist Resource Provision for children with a primary need of ASD.
