About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant at Byron Wood Academy, you’ll play a vital role in shaping young minds and supporting their learning every step of the way. In this role, you will:
- Make a real impact by supporting pupils across the curriculum and helping them grow in confidence and ability.
- Work closely with individuals and small groups, guiding them through learning activities and celebrating their progress.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
- Encourage positive behaviour and active engagement, helping pupils stay focused and motivated.
- Share valuable insights with teachers by providing feedback on pupil progress and development.
- Keep the classroom running smoothly by assisting with displays, organisation, and light admin tasks.
- Deliver targeted learning activities, including English and maths interventions, that help pupils overcome challenges and succeed.
- Use technology creatively to support learning and promote independence in the classroom.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has a good standard of general education (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
- Has experience working with children in a primary school setting.
- Understands the National Curriculum and how to support learning.
- Is confident, enthusiastic, and motivated with a passion for education.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Is willing to undertake First Aid training if not already qualified.
