The Role

As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of teaching staff to provide tailored support for pupils with English as an Additional Language. You will help to deliver individual and small-group interventions, assist in the classroom, and help students develop confidence, language skills and independence in learning.

You will:

  • Provide targeted academic and pastoral support for pupils with EAL needs
  • Help implement Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
  • Promote inclusion and participation in the wider school community
  • Support teaching and learning activities across the curriculum
  • Use ICT and other resources effectively to support learning

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of working with young people, particularly those with additional needs
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or above)
  • A passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential
  • An understanding of child development and barriers to learning
  • A commitment to working as part of a collaborative, student-focused team

An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential.
