Teaching Assistant job summary
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our thriving school community at Claycots. This is an exciting opportunity to support high-quality teaching and learning while making a real difference to the lives of our pupils.
Working closely with the Class Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting and scaffolding pupils’ learning, both in the classroom and through small group or 1:1 support. You will help to ensure all children - including those with additional needs - are able to access the curriculum, feel included, and achieve their full potential.
You will contribute to creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment, support behaviour management, monitor pupil progress, and build strong, supportive relationships with children, staff and families. Above all, you will embody and promote Claycots’ core values of Respect, Integrity, Curiosity and Kindness in everything you do.
We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills, resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping every child succeed. A strong commitment to safeguarding and ongoing professional development is essential.
