Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team to support students with their learning and behaviour needs. The position involves working with individual students and small groups of students across all curriculum areas.

The role is 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. Hours to be worked will be between 8.30am - 3.30pm. Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is preferable.

You should:

  • Have a minimum of grade C / 5 for English and Maths
  • Have excellent communication skills and use these to build strong relationships with students
  • Be able to use your own initiative as well as to work as part of a team
  • Have good inter-personal skills including the ability to use judgement and common sense
  • Use your skills to support students in fulfilling their academic potential
  • Have a calm and patient approach
  • Have the ability to interpret instructions from teachers and deliver these to students you are working with.
