About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and attend to pupils’ personal needs, promoting social, health, and hygiene development.
- Support pupils with additional needs through 1:1 mentoring and tailored interventions.
- Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and attendance.
- Support pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources.
- Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals to foster strong home-school links.
- Always promote and safeguard the welfare of children.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children’s learning in an educational setting
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent experience)
- Understanding of SEN and relevant policies/codes of practice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
- Effective use of ICT to support learning.
- Friendly, professional, and respectful approach.
- Open, honest, and committed to pupil welfare.
- Adaptable, enthusiastic, and proactive with a “can-do” attitude
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
