Teaching Assistant Additional Needs job summary

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant (additional needs)

  • Support individual children sometimes within small groups, making the adjustments on a day-to-day basis to ensure access to a differentiated and highly personalised curriculum
  • Be proactive and flexible in supporting the child’s needs
  • Working closely with the SENCO to deliver a personalised programme of support to meet targets
  • To support and maintain positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome
  • To work collaboratively with several external agencies to draw upon skills, knowledge and recommendations to help support the child
  • To support the child’s personal care and needs, including communication by following the Education Health Care Plans, and undergoing any relevant training
  • Lunchtime supervision is included in this post
