Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Playworker - Broadwood site

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit two permanent members of staff to perform the roles of both a part-time Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Playworker,

based at Corsham Primary School (Broadwood site SN13 0LX ).

Both roles are interlinked so if the employee resigns from one they will have to resign from the other one at the same time too.

Hours:

Teaching Assistant – 24.6 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only, excluding TD Days).

Lunchtime Playworker – 5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only, excluding TD Days)

Working pattern:

Teaching Assistant – Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 12.15pm and 1.45pm to 3.10pm

Lunchtime Playworker – Monday to Friday, 12.15pm to 1.15pm

30min lunch will be taken before or after pupil lunchtime - 1145-1215 or 1.15-145

Salary:

Teaching Assistant- D4-D6 £24,404- £25,183 pro rata per annum, actual salary £13,598 - £14,032 per annum

Lunchtime Playworker– B2 £23,656 pro rata per annum, actual salary £2679 per annum

Corsham Primary School is located in the picturesque Wiltshire market town of Corsham, near Bath, and is arranged over two sites located at either side of the town. Pound Pill site offers 14 classes and the Broadwood site houses 10 classes, both supporting children from Reception to Year 6. Role overview

We are looking to appoint two new members to our team to perform the role of both Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Playworker at Corsham Primary School.

As a Teaching Assistant and Lunchtime Playworker you must be committed and flexible, be able to support groups and individual children with their learning. Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as being able to use your own initiative. The successful candidates will need excellent communication and liaison skills and will be closely supported by a class teacher and wider team.

Duties will include:

Supporting pupils learning. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil/s

Supporting pupils self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development

Supporting a child with diabetes

Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required

Supporting the teacher/s

Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the English and Mathematics curriculum along with other aspects of both the National Curriculum and the enhanced curriculum offered by the school.

Support the schoole.g.assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids.

We are keen to hear from individuals who are patient, calm, organised and adaptable. Being able to work as part of a team is essential, as well as being able to use your own initiative.

A positive outlook and a sense of humour is essential.

The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This will involve undertaking annual Safeguard training and using school reporting systems for any Safeguard concerns.
