What skills and experience we're looking for

Tadcaster Primary Academy are looking to recruit a hardworking and dedicated Teaching Assistant. This role will be largely spent within our classrooms supporting the Class Teacher, whether this be helping to set up the children’s learning activities or working with a child on a one to one basis. You will play a key role in helping the children flourish and to be the best they can be during their time with us here at Tadcaster Primary Academy.

As well as supporting the children within the classroom, you will also support them over the lunch time period, both within the lunch hall and on the playground.

The combined hours for the role are 20 hours per week and will be worked over Monday – Friday, during the school term time. Please see above how the hours are split per day.

Job requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children in a supportive capacity and has good verbal communication skills. Strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are all essential to this role.

As a Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the children’s day, helping to support them in the classroom, breaking down activities in to smaller step by step teaching to ensure they get the most out of their learning. You will also guide the children to help them to develop friendships and relationships with other adults in the school and their peers.

Ideally you will be an experienced Teaching Assistant with knowledge and understanding with regards to child development and the curriculum. While this is ideal, full training and support will be given to the right candidate.
