Teaching Assistant, Assessment and Access Arrangement, Level 3 job summary
The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Assessment & Access Arrangements) Level 3, to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF. This is a permanent position within our Secondary Phase.
The core purpose of the role will be to:
- Manage and completion of appropriate Psychometric tests following referrals
- Work with the Access Arrangements Team (AAT) in creating a delivering a schedule of standardised testing in good time of deadlines advised by JCQ
- Ensure all the standardised tests are conducted, marked/assessed in good time and standardised scores are accurately recorded
- In collaboration with the AAT, use the standardised scores to complete the necessary documentation to ensure students receive all the special considerations to which they are entitled
- Administer and assess SEND screeners and tests
- Seek consent from parents/carers to carry out testing
- Carry out EAA testing for all students identified
- Write and deliver confidential reports to the SENCO and parents/carers Seek and collate evidence from teachers to support EAA
- Ensure data protection notices are signed and held for each formal application Apply for exam access arrangements via AA online before published deadlines
- Report back outcome of assessments to SENCO, students, parents/carers and other relevant stakeholders in school
Key responsibilities:
- Dealing with complex behaviour/emotional needs
- Dealing with complex physical, care and personal needs, including lifting and handling
- Support complex sensory needs
- Attend appropriate in-service training as required to address the complex needs of the pupils
- Communicate with parents/cares and other professionals around complex issues/needs
- Be aware that the job may require TAs to work in difficult and challenging conditions arising from anti-social, difficult behaviour or medical conditions
