Teaching Assistant job summary

We are a school that is going places, our expectations are high and we care about the children and community that make up our wonderful school. To help us with this journey we need an inspirational person to join our team. If that sounds like you, read on!

We are hugely ambitious and keen to harness like-minded professionals who have the drive and determination to make good things happen. We are in search of a HLTA/Teaching Assistant to work a split role (TA 16 hours 15 minutes per week, mornings & HLTA 15 hours per week, afternoons). You will have a positive attitude towards self- improvement and a commitment to collaboration & sharing best practice, learning, reflection and improvement. In a nutshell, we are keen to find someone who is exciting, who expresses unerring positivity. This is a fixed term position until 31st August 2025.

We have a team brimming with strength and potential. We know that when you spend time with us you will see a learning community that is not afraid to take risks and be innovative, and is also proud of what it achieves including the mistakes. You will see happy and enthusiastic children and staff who are supportive of each other. Research driven teaching approaches ensure we do more of the things that mater and less of the things that don’t. Our Christian Values are key to our warm and supportive environment; they are part of everything we do.

We also know life is not just about teaching, there is more to life than work. Whilst with us look around and experience what we have on our door step. A stone’s throw away is the leisure centre (reduced rates available) should sweat and Lucozade be your thing. Behind us we have the Milldown Nature Reserve, if peace and tranquillity is more your style. Air Fryer Fridays and a popular staff event, although not always as healthy as the above. All in all, we think it’s not a bad place to work.

Still interested? You’d better get started on the application form, but before you do cast an eye over the below clip.

At Milldown CE Academy we have a belief that all children need time, time and attention, to know they are cared flor and thought about. We strive to ensure staff are emotionally available, to do this by ‘doing less, better’. The clip below emphasises the importance of giving time. We want to ensure we value everyone, children, staff and parents alike. Do you share this view? If so we are already off to a flying start.
