  • Knowledge of phonics
  • Knowledge and experience of SEND and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to create a rich and safe learning environment for all students by establishing high expectations, promoting purposeful learning and creating plans based on the Foundation Stage or National Curriculum, schemes of work, and information from the assessment of students learning needs.
  • Equal opportunities awareness and knowledge
  • Ability to assess the needs of individual students and accurately record and report their progress
  • Ability to manage groups of children and cope with challenging behaviour.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Time management and the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment

Here at Erdington Hall Primary School we aim to create opportunities and support achievement for our students and staff alike. Right now we are looking for an inspiring Teaching Assistant with specialism in KS1, who can work with students and with Teaching Staff to create a nurturing environment within which everyone can reach their full potential.

With a level 3 TA qualification as well as GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/5 or above/equivalent, you will have a real passion for supporting students, including those with particular needs, as well as a desire to develop a pro-active and supportive culture within the Inclusion Team.
