Teaching Assistant job summary
Leodis Academies Trust is a successful Multi Academy Trust with five schools in the South Leeds area. As part of our continued growth we have an immediate opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team at Blackgates Primary Academy.
As a Teaching Assistant you will provide supervision and support to pupils on an individual or group basis to enable them access to learning. You will offer general support to the teacher in the management of pupils, classroom activities and assistance in the provision of the wider school curriculum. This is a fixed term post until 31st August 2022.
To succeed in the role, you will have good literacy and numeracy skills, be able to organise your work and priorities effectively. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents, work to deadlines and remain calm in a busy environment are all essential for the post.
You may be required to assist a child with special educational needs. Whilst you don’t need specific experience of working with a child with special educational needs, you do need to have a caring attitude, patience and sensitivity and understanding.
The post offers challenge, reward and role development for the right candidate. The role will be based at Blackgates Primary with opportunities to work with other professionals across the Trust.
All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, two references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), medical clearance and provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications.
