Teaching Assistant - Fixed Term Temporary part-time post to commence in April/May 2026

To be paid on NJC Grade C, £13.26 per hour

Cheriton Bishop Primary School are looking for an inspiring individual to join our team. This is a varied position offering 1 day a week in our growing preschool (Monday) where you will be required to support children from 2-4 in our small and nurturing setting working alongside our youngest learners within our growing Early Years provision.

Alongside this we require a very special individual to work with children in KS1 to support their learning, daily routines and managing feelings and emotions. This would be for 8 hours per week offering flexibility as to the working pattern of days/hours for the successful candidate.

There may be an opportunity for extended hours in our popular after school club provision - more information can be discussed at interview stage. We will consider a job share, please specify when applying your preference.

What we are looking for in a candidate is:

NVQ3 qualification or the equivalent Level 3 diploma in early years childcare is preferable
A real commitment to the safety, well-being of our pupils
A drive to help our children develop independent learning behaviours that will see them prepared for their future learning journey
Previous experience of a SEN role and an understanding of the EYFS are preferable
A committed approach and engagement to the wider school community
A cheerful, fresh and creative approach to giving the children in your care the best you can
To have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a strong and supportive team
