Join Our Supportive and Ambitious SEND Team!

We are a school on a journey of rapid improvement and we’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our passionate Learning Support Team.

Led by our Assistant Headteacher for SEND and Inclusion (SENCo), our team includes six experienced Teaching Assistants with specialisms across a range of needs including autism, literacy, numeracy, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).

We take a nurturing and inclusive approach, working collaboratively to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive. Professional development is a key priority, and we’re committed to upskilling all staff in areas of SEND.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive team where your contributions will be valued, and where you’ll have the chance to develop specialist expertise and play a vital role in the school’s continued improvement.

About our School

We are a welcoming and supportive community, made special by a dedicated staff team who genuinely care about giving every young person the best possible experience. We encourage our students to aim high, believe in themselves, and be ambitious about their futures.

At Crawshaw Academy, we believe education is about more than results. It is about helping young people grow into confident, kind, and well-rounded individuals. Our staff take the time to really know each student, recognising their strengths, nurturing their talents, and encouraging them to do their best.

We value the opportunities learning beyond the classroom can bring. Through a wide range of extracurricular activities, from sport and the arts to trips and performances, students are able to discover new interests, build friendships, and develop important skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. These experiences also help students gain a greater understanding of different cultures, traditions, and ways of life.

We set high standards because we care. We know what helps young people succeed, and we provide the right balance of challenge, guidance, and support so every student feels confident, supported, and able to thrive.

Here’s what you can expect when you join us:

  • Generous pension scheme: Employer contribution rate of 19%, plus a wide range of benefits and discounts. Full details HERE
  • Flexible working options: We support work-life balance and are open to exploring suitable arrangements
  • Supportive environment: We prioritise respect, equality, diversity, and well-being
  • Community culture: Collaboration and generosity are at the heart of our team
  • Professional development: We invest in your growth at every stage of your career
